It is a soft stone rated at 3.5 on the Mohs Hardness Scale (diamonds are rated 10). The stone is sensitive to heat and should be stored in a dark place. It can be cleaned with a mild soap and lukewarm water. It should be dried with a soft cloth to prevent surface scratches..
